Tips for Lima Hash House Harriers

The Hash is strictly a form of informal exercise and anti-competitive for the beer drinker social and their family.


The Hash is made every two weeks, in rain or snow, with earthquake, volcanic eruption or El Niño. That's why it requires the participation of each one of us to organize at least once a year a Hash.


During the run, jog, walking or "trastabillada" by the route should be shouting ON-ON every time you see a mark (Ejm. an arrow). Remember, always there are someone in front of your and they need to hear your ON-ON to keep the road.


A hash mark is a splash of flour, lots of shredded paper, chalk marks and toilet paper hanging free (mmm ... a bush or tree, of course) that is used to mark the route.


A CHECKPOINT is a large circle with a dot at its center (fondly known as Titty Check). Here the trail disappears. Checkmarks indicate that the trail may go in any one of several directions and that the pack must search for true trail. Hashers should fan out and search the area immediately. Tile pack should call out 'Check one, then Check 2, when they see a Checkmark. (Checking IS NOT Looking!) Three Hash marks are needed to confirm that the pack is on the correct trail. The third Check is announced with a loud "On-On"


Tradition requires a DOWN-DOWN (chug-a-lug) of a beer after a hasher's virgin hash, baptizing, visitor, returnees, birthdays, hares for next Hash and other significant occasions, e.g., 25th hash, 50th hash, etc.


A special down down will be celebrated for the sinner (idiot) of the week, wanking (keeping your hands in your pocket during ceremony), drinking the down down with your hat on, arriving first from the run (punishment for competitive running), short-cutting, swearing during the hash, wearing funny pants, not singing, coming late, talking during the ceremony (The Circle), peeing on the trail, spilling beer, taking a taxi or any form of ride, and, in fact, for any other reason that can be thought up.


While frowned upon as "alcohol abuse", it is permissible for non-drinkers to pour the beer ON their head it must be turned upside down ON the head, regardless of empty or full.
